Everything is spot on, exactly what you want
The service, the servers, it's nothing but fantastic. Will help you with whatever it is, even if you're slow like me they help amazingly and keep their cool. Nothing but love for the guy, an amazing soul.
Building is what makes Valheim heavy. Every placed piece is saved and simulated while players are near it, so a sprawling village costs far more than a camp.
The more of the world your group has explored, the bigger the save the server keeps loaded. BepInEx mods add on top, and players spread out load more of the world at once.
The calculator adds those up from data we collected on Valheim servers, then leaves about 15% headroom so the server never runs right at its limit. It's a guide, not a promise, and you can upgrade from the client area at any time.
Quick answers about Valheim server memory.
4 GB is enough for a small group starting out. An established world with villages wants 8 GB, and mega builds or modded servers need 12 GB.
Every placed piece is part of the world the server simulates around players, so big bases add memory and CPU load.
Vanilla Valheim allows 10 players per world. Server mods can raise that, and FangHosting does not cap slots.
It is an estimate based on data we collected, with headroom added. You can upgrade from the client area at any time.
